Objectives
Mission Statement
Our mission is that the CCAB is regarded as the representative forum that will provide the collective voice for the UK’s six independent chartered professional accountancy bodies.
Strategic Goal
Our strategic goal is for the CCAB to provide a forum whereby the six bodies can meet and act collectively on behalf of the accountancy profession in the UK to promote the public interest on matters affecting the profession as a whole and to provide a unified voice on matters of common interest.
Strategic Objectives
The CCAB will seek to fulfil its mission and strategic goal through six strategic objectives:
1. Maintaining Identity
Maintaining and developing CCAB’s identity as part of the UK and RoI accountancy profession.
2. Appointments to International Organisations
Recommending and, where appropriate, making appointments to international organisations and reviewing systematically the performance of those appointed so that high quality representations are made.
3. Representing Views To International Standard Setters and Regulators
Providing a mechanism for influencing the global profession by representing the views of the UK profession to international standard setters and regulators.
4. Joint Approaches
Providing a forum for considering issues and agreeing joint approaches to the FRC, government and other authorities, both national and international, on behalf of the UK profession as a whole.
5. Emerging and Current Issues
Identifying and sharing information and perspectives on emerging and current issues of relevance and concern to the profession, in particular, where significant public interest issues are at stake and where it will be more effective for the six member bodies to work together.
6. Joint Technical Work
Facilitating joint thought leadership, technical work and research on behalf of the UK profession. where this enhances the ‘collective voice’ and adds value for the bodies.
